WW2: Learning about the Battle of Stalingrad
11th Nov 2024
This week, we used more drama to act out the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the most devastating battles in WW2, which ended with defeat for the German Army who were surrounded in Stalingrad by the Russians. The children acted this out outside using the apparatus as the urban area. We had one group being the Russian army and one group being the German army.
The children were astonished at how many casualties on both sides were lost during the months long battle. Around 19,000 casualties per day.
We linked this to our Remembrance day assembly on Monday as well.
