As part of our WW2 topic we got a tour around the museum of aircraft including some WW2 era aircraft. We got up close and personal with the aircraft and got to climb in some of them including a Spitfire, which the children learned was critical in helping win the Battle of Britain.
Many thanks to the volunteer members of the society who opened up especially for us. We had to wrap up warm as there's no heating in these hangars which are listed buildings and were built for WW2 aircraft production.
